The HRG3 (or HRG03) is an RG series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 2004. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high end J Custom line. The HRG3 was a spot model created exclusively for the Japanese retailer Ikebe Gakki.
The HRG3 features a Honduran mahogany body with a quilted maple top with abalone purfling and pearloid binding which continues on the headstock bolted to a maple and bubinga neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with pearloid binding and mother of pearl Tree of Life inlay. Components include cream colored DiMarzio pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, an Edge Pro double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The HRG1 is a similar model with cosmo black hardware and without the abalone purfling.
The HRG3 was produced only in 2004. It is likely that only 12 or fewer were produced.
