Gravure is a term used by Ibanez to describe decorative veneer tops applied to certain guitar models. These tops feature an image (generally of exotic wood grain) which is printed onto a veneer. Gravure tops give the appearance of exotic wood at a lower price point. More recently Ibanez has used the term "art grain" to describe similar faux veneers.

The images are applied using a Rotogravure printing process.

Several types of wood looks have been emulated using gravure tops on Ibanez guitars including flame maple, quilted maple, hard maple, quilted cherry, alder and others. The S09LTD3 even has a gravure crocodile skin top. Gravure tops are generally associated with less expensive models.

Gravure tops are sometimes referred to with the somewhat derisive term "photo flame".
