The Gary Willis series is a line of solid body electric guitar models manufactured by Hoshino Gakki and sold under the Ibanez brand. It is the signature series of American bassist and composer Wikipedia:Gary Willis (born March 28, 1957) who is known primarily as a co-founder of the progressive jazz fusion band Tribal Tech.

Willis's initial signature bass from Ibanez, the GWB1, was released for 1999. It was among the first artist signature basses offered by Ibanez, alongside models by Verdine White and Doug Wimbish which were released concurrently. Like all of the subsequent models in Willis's signature line, the GWB1 was based off the Soundgear series.

History[]

Willis typically plays fretless basses, but the series includes both fretless and fretted models. As of 2025a total of nine distinct GWB models have been offered.
