Revision as of 20:24, 15 January 2020
The GWB35 is a five string solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 2004. It is a signature model for American jazz fusion bassist Gary Willis. It was initially made in South Korea, but production moved to Indonesia in 2008.
The GWB35 features an SR series double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a fretless ebony fingerboard with offset white dot position markers. Components include an SFR-GWB passive soapbar bass pickup with an EQB-GWII preamp with a two-band EQ, a fixed bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a removable finger rest/ramp, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuners with custom Sure Grip buttons.
In 2012 the Accu-cast B105 bridge was replaced with the Standard 5 bridge.
The GWB35FD is a similar fretted model.
