The GWB205 is a five string solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2019. It is a signature model for American jazz fusion bassist Gary Willis . It is produced in Indonesia as part of the Premium line. In the US market this model has been referred to as the GWB205E .
The GWB205 features an ash top on an SR series double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a fretless ebony fingerboard with offset white dot position markers. Components include a custom Bartolini passive soapbar bass pickup with a Bartolini preamp with a two-band EQ, a standard bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a removable finger rest/ramp, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuners with custom Sure Grip buttons.
For 2020 a new Tequila Sunrise Flat finish was introduced.
The GWB1005 is a more expensive version with slightly different specs which is made in Japan.
