The GWB205 is a five string solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2019. It is a signature model for American jazz fusion bassist Gary Willis. It was made in Indonesia as part of the Premium line. In the US market this model has been referred to as the GWB205E.
The GWB205 features an ash top on an SR series double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a fretless ebony fingerboard with offset white dot position markers. Components include a custom Bartolini passive soapbar bass pickup with a Bartolini preamp with a two-band EQ, a standard bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a removable finger rest/ramp, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuners with custom Sure Grip buttons.
For 2020 a new Tequila Sunrise Flat finish was introduced.
The GWB1005 is a more expensive version with slightly different specs which is made in Japan.
