The GVB36 is a six string solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2012. It is a signature model for American jazz bassist Gerald Veasley. It is made in Indonesia.
The GVB36 features an SR series double-cutaway alder body with a flamed maple top bolted to a maple neck with a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini passive soapbar bass pickups with an EQB preamp, a Mono Rail IV bridge with 14mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuners.
For 2017 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with jatoba; for 2021 it was switched back to rosewood. For 2024 the EQ was changed to an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp with ANB Custom Electronics 3-band.
The GVB1006 is a more expensive version of this bass which is made in Japan.
