The GSRM20 is a short scale Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in late 2007. It has been made in both China and Indonesia as part of the entry level GIO line.
The GSRM20 features a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a 28.6" scale maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Powersound pickups with a jazz pickup at the bridge and a precision pickup at the neck, a B10 bridge with 19mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines.
Several different woods have been used for the body material including basswood, poplar and agathis. For 2017 the Powersound pickups were replaced with Dynamix. For 2018 the rosewood fingerboard was replaced with treated New Zealand pine. For 2019 the fretboard material was changed to jatoba.
The GSRM20B is a similar model with black hardware. The GSRM20M is a similar model with a maple fretboard. The GSRM20L is a left-handed version. The GSRM25 is a similar five string model. The GSRM30 is a related model with a pair of jazz pickups.
