The GSR396 is a six string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2004. It was produced in China as part of the entry level GIO line.

The GSR396 features a double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers and a black headstock. Components include a pair of Ibanez STD-(N/B) 6 passive bass pickups channeled through an active EQB-2C 2-Band EQ, a B106 bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines.

The GSR390 and GSR395 are similar four and five string models.

The GSR396 was discontinued after 2011.
