The GSR256B is a six string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2016. It was made in China as part of the entry level GIO line. It replaced the GSR256 which is very similar except for having cosmo black hardware.
The GSR256B features a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Standard passive pickups, a B16 bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2018 the fretboard was changed to treated New Zealand pine.
The GSR250B and GSR255B are four and five string versions.
