The GSR256 is a six string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in mid-2012. It was made in China as part of the entry level GIO line.
The GSR256 features a double-cutaway poplar body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez JBH6 "Standard" passive pickups feeding an Ibanez EQB-IIID preamp with a three-band EQ, an Accu-Cast B16 bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines.
The GSR250 and GSR255 are four string and five string versions. The SR256 is a related model in the Standard line.
The GSR256 was discontinued after 2015 and replaced for 2016 with the GSR256B which is a similar model with black hardware.
