The GSR206 is a six string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2009. It is made in Indonesia as part of the entry level GIO line.
The GSR206 features a double-cutaway agathis body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Dynamix passive bass pickups, a B16 bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2015 the body material was changed to mahogany. For 2018 the body material was changed to poplar and the rosewood fingerboard was replaced with jatoba.
The GSR200 and GSR205 are similar four and five string models. The GSR206L is a left-handed version. The GSR206B is a similar model with black hardware.
