The GSR105EX is a five string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2009. It has been produced in both Indonesia and China as part of the entry-level GIO line.
The GSR105EX features a double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a single Ibanez PPD5 passive pickup, a B15 bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines.
The body material has changed several times over the years; most recently to poplar. For 2018 the rosewood fingerboard was replaced with jatoba.
