The GRX70QAL is a left-handed RX series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2012. It is part of the entry-level GIO line.
The GRX70QAL features a basswood body with an art grain simulated quilted maple veneer bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil and a non-locking synchronized tremolo bridge.
For 2013 the basswood body was replaced with poplar. In mid-2017 a new fretboard material, treated New Zealand pine, replaced rosewood.[1] For 2018 GRX70QAL models sold in the USA market get the T106 tremolo; this was extended to all markets for 2019. For 2020 the fretboard was changed to purpleheart for the USA market and to jatoba for other markets; it was changed to jatoba in all markets with 2022.
