The GRX6SP1 is an RX series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2016. It was made in China as part of the entry-level GIO line. It is a spot model which is available only in China.
The GRX6SP1 features an art grain quilted top on a poplar body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include Ibanez Infinity R pickups with a pair of humbuckers mounted in pickup rings flanking a single-coil, an Ibanez synchronized tremolo bridge and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
Initially the GRG6SP1 had a rosewood fretboard and a FAT-6 tremolo, but these were replaced for 2018 with a treated New Zealand pine fretboard and a T106 tremolo.
The GRX150 is a similar model without the exotic top and with a pickguard.
The GRX6SP1 was discontinued in 2019, but a new version was reintroduced for 2021.
