The GRX140 is an RX series solid body electric guitar model offerd by Ibanez. It was made in China as part of the entry-level GIO line. This GRX140 is an update of an earlier model with the same name.
The GRX140 features a poplar body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret treated New Zealand pine fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include Ibanez Infinity R pickups mounted in a pearloid pickguard with a humbucker at the bridge and single-coils in the neck and middle positions and a T106 synchronized tremolo bridge.
The GRX150 is similar, but with a humbucker replacing the neck single-coil pickup.
The GRX140 was originally offered in 2003 and 2004, after which it was discontinued. It was revived in late 2006 with a different bridge, pickups, pickguard and with a black headstock. This most recent iteration includes changes to the body and fretboard material, pickups and tremolo.
