The GRG7221QA is a seven string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2019. It is made in China as part of the entry level GIO line.
The GRG7221 features a quilted art grain top on a poplar body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret treated New Zealand pine fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Infinity R humbucking pickups, an F107 fixed bridge and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
For 2020 the fretboard was changed to purpleheart.
The GRG7221 is a similar model without the quilted art grain top. The GRG7221M is a related model without the quilted art grain top and with a maple fretboard. The GRGR221PA is a related six string model with a reverse headstock and a poplar burl art grain top.
