The GRG255DX is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2016. It was made in China as part of the entry-level GIO line.
The GRG255DX is among the most affordable RG models with a double locking tremolo bridge. Other features include a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and sharktooth position markers and Ibanez Infinity R pickups mounted in an aluminum pickguard with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil.
Several changes were introduced for 2018 including a poplar body, treated New Zealand pine fretboard and the Standard DL tremolo.
A similar model with dot inlays and a black pickguard, the GRG250P, has been produced since 2009. Another similar model with a maple fretboard and dot inlays, the GRG250M, was introduced in 2014.
