GRG250P Black Night (w/ Edge III) (more images) |
The GRG250P is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2009. It is made in China as part of the entry-level GIO line.
The GRG250P is one of the most affordable RG models with a double locking tremolo bridge. Other features include a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard and pickguard-mounted Ibanez pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil.
In 2009 and 2010 different versions were produced for different markets: a version with an ILT1 tremolo for Asian markets and a version with an Edge III tremolo elsewhere. The Edge III tremolo was adopted globally for 2011.
In 2010 two new finishes were introduced: Beam Blue and Orange. The GRG250P was discontinued after 2011, in all markets except China and Southeast Asia.
Several changes were introduced for 2018 including a poplar body, treated New Zealand pine fretboard and the Standard DL tremolo.
A similar model with a maple fretboard, the GRG250M, was introduced in 2014. Another similar model with sharktooth inlays and an aluminum pickguard, the GRG255DX, was added for 2016.
The GRG250P was discontinued after 2018.
