The GRG150DX, also known as the GRG150D, is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2008. It is part of the entry-level GIO line.
The GRG150DX features a solid wood body (originally basswood, more recently poplar) bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups and a synchronized tremolo bridge.
In mid-2017 a new fretboard material, treated New Zealand pine, replaced rosewood.[1]
The GRG150DX has been available in Japan since 2008. It was introduced for the US market as a new model in 2011. Since 2012 it's been available only in Australia, Canada and a handful of other small markets.
The GRG150DXB is a similar model. The GRG150LTD is a similar model with red fretboard inlays and pickguard. The GRG6SP1 is another similar model.
The GRG150DX was discontinued after 2018 in all markets except China.
