The GRG131DX is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2018. It is made in China as part of the entry-level GIO line.
The GRG131DX features a poplar body bolted to a one-piece maple neck with a 24-fret treated New Zealand pine fingerboard with red sharktooth position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Infinity R humbucking pickups mounted in a red pickguard, an Ibanez F106 fixed bridge, a plastic nut and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
For 2020 the fretboard was changed to purpleheart.
The GRGR131EX is a similar model with a reverse headstock and reverse sharktooth fretboard inlays. The GRG121DX is a related model with white inlays, no pickguard and different pickups.
