The GM500CE is a G series classical acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2013. It was made in China.
The GM500CE features a grand concert body with a soft Venetian cutaway a solid cedar top with multi-wooden purfling and rosewood binding and fan bracing on rosewood sides and two piece rosewood back with a gloss finish. The soundhole is round with an abalone and wooden rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a satin finish and a 19-fret rosewood fingerboard with small white dot position markers and a slotted headstock. Components include a bone saddle in a rosewood bridge, a narrow bone nut, gold classical tuning machines with black buttons and Savarez nylon strings.
Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore under saddle pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ210TF preamp w/ on-board tuner powered by a 9V battery and feeding a ¼" endpin output jack.
For 2015 the body dimensions were changed slightly.
The GM600CE is a similar model with a solid Engelmann spruce top.
The GM500CE was discontinued after 2016.
