− | The GAX30 was produced in both China and Indonesia from its introduction in 2004 through 2008. There were some differences between the models produced in the two factories during this time — one used a basswood body while the other factory used agathis and different pickups were used. Production ceased in China in 2008 and continued only in Indonesia. Some specs, particularly the particular wood species and pickups used, continued to vary depending on market throughout the model run. |

The GAX30 is an AX series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2018. It is a continuation of the model in production since 2003, but with several important changes. It is made in China as part of the entry-level GIO line.
The GAX30 features a poplar body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret treated New Zealand pine fingerboard with white acrylic block position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Infinity R humbucking pickups and a Full Tune III Tune-O-Matic style bridge and tailpiece and a small black pickguard.
For 2019 the poplar body was switched to basswood and the treated New Zealand pine fretboard was swapped for jatoba. For 2020 the bridge was changed to the new Gibraltar Performer.
The earlier GAX30 had an integrated bridge, white dot fretboard inlays, a slightly different pickguard shape and a lever-style pickup selector.
