GAX30 TR (2007) (more images) |
The GAX30 is an AX series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2003 as part of the entry-level GIO line. It features a simple hard-tail bridge set up and Ibanez-made pickups.
The GAX30 was produced in both China and Indonesia from its introduction in 2004 through 2008. There were some differences between the models produced in the two factories during this time — one used a basswood body while the other factory used agathis and different pickups were used. Production ceased in China in 2008 and continued only in Indonesia. Some specs, particularly the particular wood species and pickups used, continued to vary depending on market throughout the model run.
In 2008, the guitar was visually updated with chrome knobs instead of black speed knobs.
