The GA40SFCE is a GA series classical acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2009. It was made in China.
The GA40SFCE features a classical body with a soft Venetian cutaway and a solid spruce top on flamed maple back and sides with a gloss finish. The soundhole is round with a classical mosaic decal rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with only side position markers. Components include an Ivorex II saddle in a rosewood bridge, an Ivorex II nut, gold classical tuning machines with black buttons and nylon strings.
Electronics consist of an Ibanez under saddle pickup mated to an AEQ210T preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and feeding balanced XLR and ¼" stereo outputs.
For 2011 the Ivorex II nut and saddle were replaced with ivory plastic.
The GA37STCE is a related model with sapele back and sides and a thinner body.
The GA40SFCE was discontinued after 2016.
