The Fixed Lo Pro Edge, also known as the FX Edge or Fixed Edge, is a guitar bridge developed and produced for Ibanez. It is essentially a hard-tail version of the Lo-Pro Edge tremolo, combining the tuning stability and feel of a double locking tremolo with the simplicity of a fixed bridge.
Unlike most fixed bridges the FX Edge is designed to be used with a locking nut and includes fine tuners to dial in tuning once the nut is locked. This design effectively eliminates any string friction at the nut or saddle during bends. The bridge is mounted to the body with a pair of studs which sit in line with the saddles and a third stud centered in the rear.
The bridge has six individual saddles which can be moved fore and aft to adjust string intonation. The entire bridge can be raised or lowered by turning the stud screws in or out. There is no allowance to adjust the string heights individually, but the baseplate is radiused to match the fretboard with which it is paired. The JS2000 version has a 250mm radius baseplate to match the fretboard radius, while the MTM/RG version has a 400mm radius plate.
The FX Edge was used on just three models: the signature JS2000 (Joe Satriani) and MTM1 (Mick Thomson) models, and the Prestige RG2520FE.
The FX Edge was discontinued after 2011. The Fixed Edge III offers a similar design.
