The RGD420Z is an RGD series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2012. It was made in Indonesia as the replacement model for the RGD320Z. In the US market it was referred to as the RGD420.

The RGD420Z features a basswood body bolted to a 26½" scale maple Wizard III neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with black dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Cap-VK passive humbucking pickups and an Edge Zero II double locking tremolo bridge with a removable ZPS tuning stabilizer. Controls consist of just a master volume and a 3-way toggle pickup selector.

The RGD421 is a similar model with a fixed bridge.

The RGD420Z was produced for just one year.
