The RG30AH is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2008. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as a spot model to commemorate a 30 year partnership between Australis Music Group and Hoshino Gakki (1978-2008). The RG30AH was produced in a limited number of 60 units and was available exclusively in Australia.
The RG30AH features a basswood body bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret maple fretboard. Components include Ibanez pickups with V1 and V2 humbuckers flanking an S1 single-coil, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.
The most unique feature of this special model are the star fretboard inlays and the special Southern Cross inlay at the twelfth fret. The Southern Cross constellation is an Australian national icon which also appears on the Australian flag.
Each guitar included a certificate of authenticity. The number of each unit was written on the certificate and stamped on the neck joint plate of the guitar (001 through 060).
The RG550MXX 20th anniversary model from the previous year is very similar aside from the finish. The RG40AH is a related model commemorating the 40th anniversary of the partnership.
The RG30AH was offered only in 2008.
