The RGT42FX is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2003. It had a production run of two years.

The RGT42FX features a neck-through-body construction with American basswood body wings with a quilted maple top and top binding attached to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Infinity humbucking pickups and a hard-tail bridge.

The RGT42SE is a similar model with a tremolo bridge.

This RGT42FX was offered only in Japan. In 2007, another RGT42FX was offered in the USA.
