The RG565R is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1989. It was made a very limited production spot model or prototype which was produced in Japan by FujiGen. It is variously referred to as the RG565DX and the RG765.

The RG565R features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a reverse headstock and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez pickups with a stacked, noiseless single-coil at the neck and a traditional humbucker in the bridge position, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.

The RG565 is a regular production model which followed the RG565R in 1991; the RG565 has a maple fretboard with color matched dot position markers and a rails-style single-coil sized humbucker at the neck, but is otherwise similar.

The RG565R was produced only in 1989. Precise production numbers for this model are unknown (at least outside Ibanez), but speculation is that as few as a couple hundred or fewer examples were produced.
