The RG4EX1 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2006. It was a spot model which was sold exclusively through American musical instrument retailers Guitar Center & Musician's Friend.
The RG4EX1 features a basswood body with a quilted maple top and a white binding bolted to a maple Wizard II neck with a color-matched headstock and a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include Ibanez Infinity pickups, an Edge III double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut.
The RG370DX is a similar model without the quilted maple top.
The RG4EX1 was replaced for 2008 by the RG4EXFM1 which is similar except it has a flamed maple top. The quilted maple top returned for 2010 with the RG4EXQM1.
