The RG1280 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1999. It is made in Japan by Fujigen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The RG1280 features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a bubinga skunk stripe with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with offset dot position markers. Components include a Lo-Pre Edge double locking tremolo with a locking nut, DiMarzio pickups with two humbuckers flanking a single-coil and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RG1208 is a similar model with a maple fretboard.
The RG1280 was available only in Japan. For 2001 it was replaced with the nearly identical RG2080.
