The RG50 is a Roadstar II series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1986. The Roadstar series would eventually become known as the RG series.

Despite the RG name, the RG50 has the rounded-edge body style and swoopy, rounded headstock of the older Roadstar II body. It is one of only a small number of RG models with a humbucker/ single/ single pickup configuration. It has a tone chamber routed out of the body beneath the pickguard.

The RG50 features a chambered basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups with a Super 70 humbucker with Duo-Sound coil split functionality at the bridge and Super 7F single-coils in the neck and middle positions and a Powerocker Special tremolo bridge.

The RG52 is a similar model with dual humbucking pickups. The RG53 is also similar but has three single-coils.

The RG50 was offered only in Japan and was discontinued after 1986.
