The EXR170 is a solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2005. It was part of the Ergodyne series. It was produced through 2006.
While the previous Ergodyne models had bodies made from Luthite, a light-weight synthetic material, the body of the EXR170 was solid agathis. The shape of the Ergodyne body is reminiscent of those in the S and JS series.
The EXR170 features a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. It employs an HSH pickup configuration with humbucking pickups in the bridge and neck position and a single coil in the middle. Components include a synchronized tremolo bridge and Ibanez Infinity pickups.
