The EX170L is a left-handed EX series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 1992. It was made in Korea. This version with the rosewood fretboard was offered only in European markets.

This EX170L features a plywood body mated to a one-piece maple neck with a traditional neck joint with a metal plate. It has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. The pickups are Ibanez EX humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions flanking an EX single coil. Other components include a synchronized tremolo bridge.

The EX170 is a right-handed version.

The EX170L (maple fretboard) is a related model that was sold in European markets. Multiple differences exist between the two models including the pickups and the type of wood used for the body and fretboard.

This EX170L was discontinued after 1993 along with the rest of the EX line.
