The EX170L is a left-handed EX series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 1992. It was made in Korea. This version with the maple fretboard was offered only in the US market.
This EX170L features a light American maple body mated to a one-piece maple neck with a traditional neck joint with a metal plate. It has a 22-fret maple fingerboard with dot position markers. The pickups are Ibanez Powersound humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions flanking a single coil. Other components include a synchronized tremolo bridge.
The EX170 is a right-handed version.
The EX170L (rosewood fretboard) is a related model that was sold in European markets. Multiple differences exist between the two models including the pickups and the type of wood used for the body and fretboard.
The EX170L was discontinued after 1993 along with the rest of the EX line.
