The EX140 is an EX series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 1989. It was made in Korea. This version was sold only in the United States.

A later EX140 version was sold in European markets in 1991–1993. The major difference between the two is that the European version has a plywood body, while this US version has a solid basswood body.

This EX140 features a basswood body mated to a one-piece maple neck with a traditional neck joint with a metal plate. It has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. The pickups are an Ibanez EX humbuckers at the bridge and EX single coils in the middle and neck positions. Other components include a synchronized tremolo bridge.

The EX140L is a left-handed version. The EX170 is a similar model with a humbucking pickup in the neck position. The EX120 is a related model with dual humbucking pickups. A version with an agathis body was offered in Japan.

The EX140 was replaced for 1992 by the EX160.
