The EW2012ASE is a 12 string Exotic Wood series acoustic-electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2008. It was produced in China.
The EW2012ASE features an EW body with a soft Florentine cutaway constructed of a laminated quilted ash top with mahogany binding on laminated quilted ash sides and back with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole has an abalone rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with a special acrylic pearl inlay at the twelfth fret. Components include an Ivorex II compensated saddle in a rosewood bridge, Ibanez Advantage bridge pins, an Ivorex II nut, and chrome Ibanez Smooth Tuner AS die-cast tuning machines.
Electronics consist of a B-Band UST undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez SRTn preamp with notch filter and onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and feeding balanced XLR and ¼" outputs.
For 2010 the machine heads was chneged to Die-cast. For 2011 the body was changed to figured ash.
The EW20ASE is the six-string version. The EW20LASE is the six-string left-handed version. The EW20AS is the acoustic version missing the cutaway.
