The Doug Wimbish series is a signature line of solid body electric bass guitar models offered by Ibanez. It is the signature series of American bassist Douglas Arthur Wimbish (born September 22, 1956) who is known primarily for his work with the rock band Living Colour and with the seminal hip-hop outfit The Sugarhill Gang.

Wimbish's initial flagship bass from Ibanez, the DWB1, was released for 1999. It was among the first artist signature basses offered by Ibanez, alongside models by Gary Willis and Verdine White which were released concurrently.

History[]

The DWB1 features neck-through-body construction and a special contoured body based on the Soundgear series. The more affordable DWB2 with a bolt-on neck was released concurrently. These models were replaced for 2003 with a new DWB3 which also has a through neck but has a more slab-shaped body. The final model in the series, the DWB35, is a five string version of the DWB3.

The DWB3 and DWB35 were both discontinued after 2006.
