DiMarzio IBZ pickups (also known as DiMarzio/IBZ) are specially designed and manufactured for Ibanez by DiMarzio in the US. DiMarzio created special pickups for RG, SA and S models.

Some early series of pickups were also branded as IBZ/USA.

Description: Humbucking pickup used for RG series Prestige models in bridge and neck position. According to DiMarzio, the neck pickup is fairly bright-sounding, similar to a DiMarzio Super 2 (DP104). The bridge pickup is a little louder and warmer-sounding, and resembles a cross between the DiMarzio Steve Morse Bridge Model (DP200) and the DiMarzio Super Distortion (DP100).[2]

Description: Single coil pickup used for RG Prestige models in mid position.
Well-balanced sound with clear tone. The R1 single-coil is warmer-sounding than a typical vintage single-coil, and was designed to work well with the neck and bridge humbuckers when they are in split mode. It has a sound similar to that of the HS-2 in split-coil mode.[2]

Description: Bright, traditional single-coil sound.[6] The output is lower than that of a standard vintage Strat single-coil. This was intentional, because Steve (Vai) wanted the 2 & 4 positions to produce an equal balance between the middle pickup and the split humbuckers, which were originally the PAF Pro. Sounds similar to the non-humbucking sound of the HS-2.
