The DT870 is an Destroyer series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1984. It was made in Japan as part of the X series of pointy bass guitars.

The DT870 features an angular basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with Pearloid triangle position markers and a matching headstock. Components include a set of Super pickup's. Controls are: 2 Volume, tone, rear Tri-sound switch pick-up and 3-way toggle switch, an Accu-cast B II bridge, gold hardware, a plastic nut and Smooth Tuner B-II machine heads.

The DT870 was discontinued after 1986.
