Custom Advanced Pickups (CAP) are a line of magnetic guitar pickups designed by Ibanez and produced by Ibanez and their suppliers. They are offered in a wide range of guitar models.
The CCR1 "Calm Crusher neck" was introduced in 2008 along with the FR series. It was renamed the CAP-CCR1 in 2011.
They "don't have the same heat of ceramic magnets, but still have the power to cut through the mix."[1] "They feature a clear and grainy high range"[2] while bringing "more punch to the midrange tones."[3]
The CAP-CL pickups were introduced with the SPremium models for 2012. The CAP-CL1 neck humbucker is paired with the CAP-CL2 bridge humbucker and the CAP-VM1S single-coil middle pickup.
The CAP-CL pickups "can handle a wide range of sounds from pure clean tones to aggressive distortion sounds."[4]

The CAP-LZ pickups were introduced with the RGAPrestige models in 2011, replacing the LoZ pickups. The LZ1 neck pickup is paired with the LZ2 bridge.
They "feature low noise, wide dynamic range, and a powerful yet clear humbucker sound."[5] They "deliver an aggressive tone, while minimizing the noise, even when played with a high gain setting. "[They] cover very wide range, and offer powerful, rich mid-tones."[6]
The LZ10 appears similar (identical?) to the LZ1 (see above). The LZ10 is used in the neck position and paired with the LZ20 bridge pickup (see below).

This pickup was introduced in 2009 along with the Darkstone series as the PP1-B; the name was changed to CAP-PP1-B from 2011. Paired with the PP1-N neck pickup.
CAP-VK1 neck pickup is paired with CAP-VK2 bridge. High output pickup designed for down-tuning. Introduced in 2011 for the RGD series. CAP-VK17 is a version for seven string guitars. The VK1-DT is a very similar predecessor with silver rather than black pole pieces which this pickup replaced.
"By employing the pickup magnet strength in various ways, output at the neck is perfectly balanced with high output at the bridge. These pickups are designed to increase reverberation on lower tones, making them excellent for down tuning."[8] "High output, specially designed for downtuning. Having a clarity both in clean sound and in distortion, for extended low end as well as treble response for solo playing."[9]
CAP-VK2 bridge pickup is paired with CAP-VK1 neck. High output pickup designed for down-tuning. Introduced in 2011 for the RGD series. CAP-VK27 is a version for seven string guitars. The VK2-DT is a very similar predecessor with silver rather than black pole pieces which this pickup replaced.

"The tone is deep and warm, but not muddy. It's hot, but not distorted. It's even got rich harmonics by OFC (oxygen free copper) wire."[10] "The RG Premium's capacity to deliver a wide variety of sonic personalities is due in no small part to the newly developed CAP-VM1, VM1S, and VM2 pickups. The addition of an OFC (oxygen free copper) coil minimizes sound loss. Dial in anything from clean-and-clear to the edgiest layered distortion — the sound will be nothing less than bold."[11]
The CAP-VM1S is used as a middle single-coil pickup with the CAP-VM1 neck and CAP-VM2 bridge humbuckers. Alternately, it's paired with CAP-CL1 and CAP-CL2 humbuckers.
"A vintage-style single-coil pickup that's clean and bright, but designed to still sound sweet by OFC (oxygen free copper) wire."[10] The CAP-VM1S "can handle a wide range of sounds from pure clean tones to aggressive distortion sounds."[4] "The RG Premium's capacity to deliver a wide variety of sonic personalities is due in no small part to the newly developed CAP-VM1, VM1S, and VM2 pickups.
