I promise I searched the wiki / message board first!
Does anybody know anything about the White Tiger branded models? This guitar was found abandoned in the basement of the house we moved in to (yay! free guitar!) The headstock had the remains of a sticker that said "White Tiger" and I managed to find out that it was made in the Ibanez factory (look at the headstock) but apart from that I can't seem to find much more.
It's a really nice guitar, plays great, and the pickups are super hot (hotter than my friends active 'heavy metal' pickups in his cheapo strat copy) but I wondered about history, how much they cost back in the 1980s (I'm guessing it's 80s) - any help appreciated.
I have an Ibanez Artwood AC-100. According to the Serial number, it was manufactured in Incheon, South Korea in 1998 with the SN of 98120067 (making it the 120 thousandth one made that year). I can find very little information about it.
We love the deep resonating sounds of the guitar, but at 72 (me) and 84 (wife) don't know how much longer we will be playing and none of our offsprings seem to be interested in guitars (we also have an Ovation 12 string, cedar-top Yamaha G235 II, and a 2003 baby Taylor). So, I was just trying to find some info about the Ibanez for possible resale! Thanks to anybody who knows about this fine instrument.

Hi everyone I just got this new RGD71ALMS from my guy at ibanez. I have a ringing from inside the guitar. For those who may not know, it is a multiscale, 7-string. It has no floating bridge or springs or anything inside it. When I chug or hit the bottom strings together and do a hard stop, there is a ringing from inside, maybe coming from under the pickups. I have a GruvGear fretwrap on the headstock, and I tried muting the string separately etc etc etc. Anyone ever have this? Anyone have any ideas? I am asking everyone because I can't seem to find anything online anywhere.
This is a Les Paul copy from 1977. These images were shared by User:MBfan1.
From MBfan1: " I wanted to add my Ibanez Lez Paul copy to the list as i searched all over the place and couldn't find much info. Well it seems this is a november 1977 model in antique violin brown. Purchased from a local music shop about 2005."
I know this is obviously a Les Paul copy and the plate identifies it. I had some good info on this guitar way back when the old register was running but that seems to be gone now and i have forgotten the info i had apart from knowing it's a 77 model. I bought it second hand from a local music shop about 15 years ago. Plays really nice but i'd love to find out more info if possible. It originally had chrome covered pickups and i do still have them but i like the look of the exposed ones. I'll upload better photos later.
I have what I believe is a Mansfield guitar, built by Ibáñez circa 1960’s. I think it’s a Mansfield model 2350, which is basically a copy of a Les Paul guitar.
Mansfield was a Montreal Canada brand name, but the actual guitars were built in Japan by Ibáñez builders.
Can anyone provide info on this guitar’s heritage and possible value?
Hi everyone,
can someone help me identify what model/series this guitar is? Im trying to figure out its value. I bought it around 15 years ago secondhand. Serial number is F739306. Production year: August 1987 serial: 39306 (factory: FujiGen Gakki, Nagano (1987–1996), Japan). Let me know if you need more pictures.
Thanks in advance!
Hello fellows. A friend is selling this guitar, but it`s super difficult to find information about it, can't find similar images in the artcore series. Could you help me find out more about it? Woods, pickups and is worth around $ 438 with a hard case.
serial number 880406051
Thank you for your help.
P.s. I'm sorry for the quality of the images, this friend's cell phone is horrible.
Hello all. This is my first post. My father bought this Ibanez acoustic V300 in 1976. It was used when he bought it. I can’t seem to find any information based on the serial number on it. The serial number is 800821. I am attaching some pictures of it. I am wanting to find as much information about it as possible. Like what kind of wood is it made of. Is it laminate wood or solid wood. What is the fret board made of. Just anything I can find. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I bought this guitar used, many, many years ago (the receipt reads Jan 30 XXXX (missing or faded to oblivion).
based on my address, I am guessing the year is 1991 or 92.
The markings on the headstock clearly read RG570, and the serial number indicates 1989 made in Japan.
not sure why people don't post numbers, but I don't know much about guitars, lol
so, I'll post most of mine. F9169xx
here is my question -
everything I see online says this came w/ V1,S1,V2 pick-ups.
but every picture I see shows the V1, S1,V2 in white on the pick-up.
mine has no markings.
so, I was wondering, did they not all have the marking on them?
or did someone swap out the pick-ups for something else before they traded it in?
I suppose I could take them out for a better look, but that seems a recipe for disaster.
So, for now, I decided to come here and ask you all.
if the pictures are not helpful, let me know. I'll try to set up some better lighting.
I was using the flash, but the long lens makes a shadow.
anyway, I never did learn to play, but I never parted with it either. so, other than the oxidation on the knobs and the neck plate, I may have the cleanest 30 year old guitar in the world.
FWIW, as a 53 year old, I'm actually trying to learn to play now.
though for the time being, I'm practicing on a 1966 (or 7? Gibson SNs are near worthless it seems) Gibson B15 (I think, lol). I bought that in 1989. it is also in near mint condition.
(face of shame)
any input is appreciated.
thanks,
ed.
(can't believe this forum already had an ekw!!)
I bought this second hand guitar for 300 euros (332 US dolars) around 2007. I have only seen one exactly the same (with the rosewood neck and DiMarzio V7/S1/V8 pickups) on the internet. Its serial number is F304150 (year 1993; factory: FujiGen Gakki, Nagano).
Is it a RG 550, RG 560, RG570, or a Roadstar RG 550? Why are there so few? If you had to sell it, how much would you ask for?
Ibanez is a Japanese guitar brand owned by Hoshino Gakki. Based in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, Hoshino Gakki were one of the first Japanese musical instrument companies to gain a significant foothold in import guitar sales in the United States and Europe. The wiki covers all aspects of Ibanez guitars and all are welcome to contribute!
