The BTB846SC is a six string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2018. It was made in Indonesia as part of the Ibanez Bass Workshop line.
The BTB846SC features neck through body construction with a poplar burl top and mahogany back on ash wings attached to a maple and rosewood neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot position markers. The body has a single cutaway design with a very prominent upper bout and a narrow, curving lower horn. Components include a pair of Bartolini BH2 passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel frets including a zero fret, a finger ramp which matches the top, Mono-rail bridges with 17mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2018 the rosewood in the neck was replaced with walnut and the rosewood fretboard was replaced with jatoba. For 2019 the body back material was changed from mahogany to okoume.
The BTB845SC is a similar five string model. The BTB846 is a similar standard model with a double cutaway body style.
