The BTB845V is a five string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 2018. It was made in Indonesia as part of the Ibanez Bass Workshop line and is part of the shorter (838mm/ 33") scale "Volo" series.
The BTB845V features neck through body construction with a poplar burl top and mahogany back on ash wings attached to a 33" (838mm) scale maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret jatoba fingerboard with abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Bartolini BH2 passive pickups channeled through an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel frets including a zero fret, a finger ramp which matches the top, individually mounted Mono-rail bridges VS with adjustable 17mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut, and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2019 the body back material was changed from mahogany to okoume. For 2020 the hardware changed from black matte to black. For 2021 the fretboard material was changed to rosewood.
The BTB846V is a six string version. The BTB845SC is a similar model with a single cutaway body style. The BTB845 is a related standard model with a longer 35" scale neck.
From 2022 the BTB845V was offered only in Japan. The BTB845V was discontinued after 2023.
