The BTB746 is a six string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2017. It is made in Indonesia as part of the Standard line.
The BTB746 features neck through body construction with a walnut top and mahogany back on ash wings attached to a maple and rosewood neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Bartolini BH2 passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel frets including a zero fret, a Mono-rail bridge with 19mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with jatoba and the maple and rosewood neck was replaced with maple and walnut. For 2019 the mahogany back was replaced with okoume.
The BTB740, BTB745 and BTB747 are similar four, five and seven string models, respectively. The BTB846 is a similar model with a poplar burl top.
