The BTB705LM features neck through body construction with a flamed maple top on ash and okume wings attached to a maple and walnut neck with graphite reinforcement rods and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot inlays. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of T1 passive humbucking pickups channeled through an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel frets including a zero fret, individually mounted Mono-rail Vs bridges with adjustable 19mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut, and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
The BTB705LM is considered a "light" multi-scale model since the difference between the scale length on the treble and bass sides of the fretboard is just one inch.
The BTB605MLM is a related model with a similar light multiscale neck, but with a flamed maple fretboard and without the flamed maple top. The BTB805MS is a related model with a panga panga fretboard, the same electronics, and a two inch difference in scale length between the treble and bass sides.
