The BTB7 is a seven string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 2013. It was made in Indonesia and was introduced in 2013 as a limited edition spot model, which was added to the newly created Ibanez Bass Workshop line the following year. In the US market it was known as the BTB7E.
The BTB7 features neck through body construction with a rosewood top on maple wings attached to a graphite reinforced 9-piece maple, rosewood, and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of CAP Sonic Arch single-coil sized humbucking pickups with an Ibanez E6 preamp with a three-band EQ, individually mounted Mono-rail IV bridges with 15.5mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines.
The hardware color was initially gold, but changed to black matte for 2014.
