The BTB556A is a six string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2006. It was produced by World Musical Instrument Co. in Incheon South Korea as part of the Standard line. It replace the BTB556AH.
The BBTB556A features mahogany body with ash top and backbolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot position markers and white side dots. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Bartolini MK1-6 pickups with a Vari-Mid IIIB 3-band EQ, stainless steel frets, Mono-rail bridges with 17mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut and die-cast tuning machines.
The BTB550A is a similar four string model. The BTB555A is a similar five string model.
