The BTB555A is a five string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2006. It was produced in South Korea by World Musical Instrument Company as part of the Standard line and replace the BTB555AH.
The BTB555A features mahogany body with ash top and back bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers and white side dots. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Bartolini MK1-5 pickups with a Vari-Mid IIIB 3-band preamp EQ, medium frets, a MR-2 bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut and die-cast tuning machines.
The BTB550A is a similar four string model. The BTB556A is a similar six string model.
