The BTB1936 is a six string BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2020. It is made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line.
The BTB1936 features neck through body construction with a spalted maple top and back on African mahogany wings attached to a graphite reinforced panga panga and purpleheart neck with a 24-fret panga panga fingerboard with binding and offset abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Aguilar DCB passive pickups channeled through an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel frets including a zero fret with Premium fret edge treatment, individually mounted Mono-rail VS bridges with adjustable 19mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
The BTB1935 is a five string version. The BTB1906SM is a similar model with a spalted maple top and back. The BTB1906 is a predecessor with a flamed maple top and back. The BTB1826 is a related model with a walnut top and back.
